We began the journey from Bari to Vico del Gargano and made a short stop for a snack. Finally we arrived at the hotel to rest.

Day 1, Friday, 4 March 2016

Katarina Hekić's, Graal Lucignano's, Nejc Tehovnik's, Jernej Žakelj's and mine journey started at 04:00AM, in front of our school. Of course, our teachers Martina Holešek, Barbara Iskra Šarec, Aleš Pešec and Peter Planinc went with us. The journey went by well and quick. On the road we saw the beautiful land of Italy. We drove for about 13 hours. We arrived at Vico del Gargano.  After getting settled in the Maremonti hotel, we all took a walk around the city. We went around the town and visited one of the most famous bakery's, saw some of the shops and after that we came back to the hotel, ate dinner and went to bed.

Day 2, Saturday, 5 March 2016

We went to see the town, where we were staying in. A lot of different cultures are mixed in this town, as we could see on their buildings, for example we saw the round window's that were typical for the French. Their origin is historic, but they were renovated into flats. We walked across the street of kisses, where lovers meet and kiss each other.  We also visited the bloody compress device , which was the only compress  device for  olive oil back in the time. It's name is bloody compress device, because the worker's were working in such bad circumstances, that their hands were bleeding. Everything was made of wood and stone. We also saw stairs, that were supposed to be used by Frideric the 2nd, to climb on his horse. We also saw the outside of the town hall and ate lunch later. At 5 p. m. we went to acceptance ceremony in our Italian hosts' school. At the school, we meet and made a lot of friends. After the ceremony, we went back to the hotel, ate dinner and went to bed excited for tomorrow adventures.

Day 3, Sunday, 6 March 2016

We started the day quite early. We got up around 7:00 AM, got ready for the day and new adventures and went downstairs for breakfast.

At 8:20AM we left our hotel with the mini-bus that also brought us to Vico del Gargano. We had a big day a head of us. First stop was the Umbra forest (Italian: Foresta Umbra). A quite winding road lead us to the lake/pond in the forest Umbra. We spent about 20 minutes there and after that hit the road again. Stop 2 was Monte Sant'Angelo. We went to the church in a cave. We also heard a really interesting thing about the cave. There are water drops on the ceiling and they do fall down, but no matter what you can't get wet. They said it was a miracle. After the church, we went to the castle in the same city but unfortunately the weather ruined our plans. It started raining quite aggressively so we all decided to return to our buses.
After that we drove to lunch. After our lunch, we again took our buses and drove to the beach. First we took a short walk around the city and heard something about the history. Another interesting story we heard today, was that, when Friderik second visited this town, he only took his male companionship. And that is because there was a rule, the "one night rule". And what that rule is, is that if any girl was getting married she had to sleep with Friderik second the night before the wedding. After the walk we went to the beach. The weather of course got much better, it went from 4°C to 14°C. The beach was magnificent, and that's why we took the chance and took some amazing pictures, you can se below( with that we would like to thank Omer Poyraz, for taking the great SMGŠ picture with all of us and the teachers! ). After the beach, we hit the road back to Maremonti. And you probably know what's next- dinner and getting ready for bed. Today was great because we also took some great pictures with other students and just had a nice relaxed day. We are going to bed filled with satisfaction and, I think I can say we are all very excited for tomorrow, because we are going to visit some amazing places, including Aberobello, and we are even more excited because some of our Italian friends are coming with us!

Day 4, Sunday, 7 March 2016

Started at 6:00AM, when we ate breakfast and about an hour and something later we took off. As i mentioned in yesterday's diary, we were going to walk around with some of the Italian students. And we even got 5 of them on our bus. At first it was a little quiet, but later when we made our first bathroom break and got back, the ambience got much better! We started teaching our Italian friends some Slovenian words! We drove to the castle of Friderik second, Castel Del Monte. We entered the castle, went up to the tower took some pictures and chatted with our Italian friends. We heard some amazing stories about the castle and when walking around it, you could feel and see the difference between our castles back in Slovenia and their castles here. And while walking around it, you could tell immoderately that their life was also quiet different. After the castle, we went back to the bus and we were on our way to new adventures.
Next stop was Arbelobello. First we went to lunch at Trullo D'Oro. We ate with everybody/l- all 6 countries! After that we took a walk around the city. One of my friends said that Aberobello was a strange but really amazing place! They had special Trulli roofs, and they're special because they're only made from solid materials, no liquids! After the walk we were supposed to go to Bali but unfortunately we couldn't go, because of the lack of time. We returned to the hotel at a late hour, went to dinner, finished today's diary and went to bed!

Day 5, Tuesday, 8 March 2016

We firstly visited an italian catering and tourism school. Their deputy headmaster showed around their school and told us some things about it. The school is being visited by around six to seven hundred students and is one of the best catering schools in Italy. Then we went to a town which lays besides the coast, Vieste. We walked besides the coast, up the hill to a castle. Some students showed us around the castle and gave us a tour of the town. There was also a church.  Later we went back to the catering and tourism school and its students made lunch for us. They did a really good job and we gave them an applause before we left. Before we came back to the hotel, we visited the other side of the coast. We took some really nice pictures there.

Day 6, Wednesday, 9 March 2016

Vico del Gargano's sun woke us up at 7:00 AM and invited us to breakfast at 7:45 AM. After our meal, we head off to SCHOOL. We arrived first because we took our mini-bus, because we had some stuff to bring to the school( Cocta and some other Slovenia snacks). After a little while, the others came(they walked) and we all went to a big room, where we were nicely welcomed yet again and sang a Pink Floyd song. After the song, we learned about the Italian  school system.  The presentation was held by their teacher and one of the students, Valentino.

After that, we went to the stadion where we watched the famous football match. There were 2 teams playing- scientifico and EL CLASICCO. Their teams were choosed by their two NIVOJI V SOLI. They were scientifico and CLASSICO. Scientifico's team is red and black, and the CLASSIC team's color is green and black. I was on the red side and we won! The score was 3:1. Everybody was really nice at the game, nobody took too seriously- by that I mean that there were no incidents or anybody hating each other. After the game we head back to school, where food was waiting for us. Their parents and local shops prepared some food and drinks for us. While eating we chatted and hang-out with the other students. Some time later, we head back to the hotel. After the return to the hotel we had some free time, till dinner. And after dinned we went to bed you were thinking? But no, tonight we had a party prepared for us and our Italian friends, including all the other students that was at the hotel of course. And after the party we all went to bed, kinda sad bur kinda excited because tomorrow is our last day here!
